The UK 2006 pre-budget speech is once again announced by the Chancellor Gordon Brown, and guess who gets whacked again in the name of a green tax - you and I the motorist.
Taxes were increased for petrol and disease despite the escalating cost fuel in recent years, thanks to the war in Iraq. Perhaps the Chancellor needs more of our hard earned money to wage another war.
The Scotsman reports "MISCALCULATING North Sea oil production and pension costs left Gordon Brown with a multi-billion-pound hole in his budget, forcing the Chancellor into a tax raid on airline passengers and motorists yesterday. .........
The Treasury is also expecting to raise £3 billion less from North Sea oil next year than it had forecast. Over the following three years, there would be a further shortfall of £4 billion. .............
Most of the extra tax revenue - about £1 billion a year - will come from doubling the duty on passenger flights. Short-haul travellers will pay an extra £5, long-haul fliers £20 more, and business-class travellers an additional £40.
Tax on petrol and diesel also increases by 1.25 pence per litre from today."

Are Heelys shoes only for Christmas?
Heelys shoes are not only for Christmas
Heelys shoes have remained very popular with people of all ages and kids love it. It is predicted to be one of the most sort after Christmas gift this year. Get Heelys shoe for your children this Christmas and you can't go wrong. They will love it and I know this because it is on my kids Christmas gift wish list, and most of their friends are also expecting Heelys shoes for either Christmas or their birthday.
Heelys are simply pair of trainers or shoes on wheels built into the heel allowing you to roll, walk or run with ease. Some of the most frequently asked questions about Heelys shoes are:
Can I remove the wheels?
Heelys are very versatile because the wheel in the heel is removable so when taken out the Heelys act as a normal pair of trainers or shoe
What size should I get?
Heelys sizes can be a bit small so you are advised to go up 1 size from that of your normal shoe…
This will give you a bit more comfort and allow growing room for kids
Some Heelys have 1 wheel, some have 2…Why is that?
Heelys have 2 different wheel set-ups which relate to your experience…
1 Wheel
This set-up is better for people who have had experience using Heelys or generally have good balance… These allow you to go faster and turn quicker
2 Wheels
This set-up is better for beginners as the 2 wheels act like training wheels on a bike…They basically allow the you a little bit more balance helping to gain confidence of use…
Tip
– Be mindful when choosing a set-up as it not advisable to use 2 wheel Heelys with only 1 wheel insertedBearings - What does the ABEC rating mean?
The ABEC rating is simply the classification of the speed of the bearing…The higher the number, the better the bearing, the faster you go.
Grind plates
A grind plate is just a hardened plastic section in the middle of the sole which allows you to grind along rails, ledges and curbs (it's advisable to gain some basic Heeling experience before attempting this). This adds a different dimension to the Heelys experience
There are so many models of Heelys shoes out there. Shop around before buying and you could make some tidy savings.

Road Charging - Drivers Get Nailed Again
The road charging scheme being proposed by the government is another nail in the coffin to motorist. And the government is set to get their way judging by the compliant nature of the British car owners to other cash grabbing ill convinced motoring schemes introduced by the government over the years.
A study has shown that Britain has the highest number of speed cameras in Europe per 1000 population count.
Scheme like this ill conceived road charging and others like the congestion charge and revenue driven parking fines serve only to push law abiding drivers to the edge.
